About the Rapido 40
Design
The Rapido 40 was designed in 2020 by the renowned multihull designers Morrelli and Melvin, as a fast, safe ocean cruising trimaran. The spacious saloon offers panoramic views. C-foil daggerboards in the floats and single T-foil rudder provide a comfortable ride with reduced pitching. The floats fold in to 18ft beam for convenient docking and hauling.
Build
The Rapido 40 is a production boat built by Rapido Trimarans in Vietnam. The company was founded by Paul Koch and Richard Eyre in 2014. They bring many years of multihull construction experience having previously worked with Corsair and Seawind. They build other models including the 50 and 60ft trimarans. "Run Time", built in 2023, is #4 of around 10 completed Rapido 40s, of which 3 are in the USA.
